Personal:
Bryce and his wife Gretchen are life-long residents of
Pierce County and have three children. Bryce has retained a continuing interest
in athletics since his football-playing days at the University of Washington which
included videotaping games for the Puyallup High School football team. He also enjoys
golf, skiing, fishing, as well as all water-related activities.
Education:
Bryce graduated in 1961 from the University of Washington
with a major in political science and a minor in economics. He attended the University
of Washington Law School and Gonzaga University, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence
degree in 1966. Bryce received the Bureau of National Affairs Award which is given
to the member of the law graduating class who has achieved the highest grades during
the year immediately preceding graduation. Bryce was an associate editor of the
Gonzaga Law Review.
Professional Memberships:
Bryce is a member of the Phi Delta Phi
Legal Fraternity and he is currently a member of the Washington State, Pierce County,
and American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Washington State and American
Hospital Attorneys Associations. He has been a member at the Washington State Bar
Association’s Disciplinary Board. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees,
as well as Secretary-Treasurer of the Pierce County Bar Association. He has been
a member of the Legislative Committee and Continuing Legal Education Committee for
Washington State Bar Association, as well as Special District Counsel. Bryce is
listed in "Who's Who in American Law."
Admissions to Practice:
He is admitted to practice before all Washington
state and federal courts, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States
Supreme Court.
Other Memberships:
Fircrest Golf Club and the Kiwanis Club.
Areas of Practice:
Bryce's practice emphasizes real estate,
business, construction law and health care law. He also has many years of experience
in estate planning and probate matters.
Civic Activities:
Good Samaritan Hospital Board of Directors (1972-1989),
Puyallup Valley Chamber of Commerce (President 1974-1975), Puyallup Valley Daffodil
Festival (President 1975-1976) and Mary Bridge Hospital Foundation Board (1992-1997).
Previous activities also include Chairman of the Puyallup Valley United Way Drive,
Puyallup School District Board of Directors, Activities Counsel of the Tacoma Art
Museum, Tacoma-Pierce County Arts Commission, and Board of Directors and Secretary
of the Mt. View-Edgewood Water Company (1969-1987).
