Personal
Hollis is married to Patricia Barnett who is also an
attorney with the firm. They have three children and have resided in the Puyallup
area since 1971. Hollis grew up in the Mount Rainier Park area, was a former seasonal
ranger and part-time guide at Mount Rainier National Park. Hollis is an avid downhill
and cross-country skier and has been a professional ski instructor for 30 years.
He also enjoys snowmobiling, river rafting, fly fishing and mountain bicycling.
Education
Hollis graduated from Seattle University with a B.A.
in Business Administration in 1962. He entered the Army in 1962 and was assigned
to the Army Security Agency. He spent one year at the U.S. Army Language School
studying Russian. The remaining two years, he was a Green Beret in the U.S. Army
Special Forces. Hollis attended Gonzaga Law School, was a member of the Gonzaga
Law Review for two years, and graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1969.
Hollis was a Law Clerk for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office for two
years prior to graduation from Gonzaga and a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Pierce
County for two years after graduation until Hollis joined the law firm in 1972.

Hollis is admitted to practice and appears
before all Washington state courts, the Federal District Courts in Western and Eastern
Washington, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Claims Court,
and the United States Supreme Court.
